Liverpool as a place to live

Welcome to our Liverpool places to live page. Find the nicest, greatest and best places to live in Liverpool.  It is situated in the North West of England.

Built on an illustrious heritage that stretches back 800 years and with its world-class attractions and spectacular events, Liverpool has a global reputation for sport, music, architecture and a wealth of culture for residents and worldwide visitors to explore.

Today the city is enjoying a massive resurgence, driven by its designation as European Capital of Culture in 2008. With more museums, theatres, galleries and listed buildings than in any other region outside London, Liverpool’s cultural wealth has long been a major attraction. Now one of the UK’s top five retail destinations, Liverpool is where you can certainly shop until you drop at the new Liverpool One complex.

Boasting the world’s 1st professional philharmonic orchestra and more number one pop hit singles than any other city, Liverpool’s music scene could not be more eclectic, while its nightlife is vibrant, energetic and rivals that of any other UK city. An interesting fact is that Edward Elgar’s Pomp and Circumstance March No. 1 was composed in 1901 and dedicated to his friend Alfred E. Rodewald, an amateur conductor in Liverpool, and to the members of the Liverpool Orchestral Society.

When eating out, city dwellers and visitors can choose from a host of restaurants, cafes and bars that cater for all tastes and budgets. Home to two of Europe’s most famous football teams – Liverpool and Everton FC – the city’s achievements in sport are internationally recognised.

Liverpool waterfront is one of the most stunning in the world and with the reintroduction of direct cruising to and from the port, the city is well on its way to recapture its original status as the UK’s leading cruise-ship port. Adding this magnificent skyline with the same World Heritage Site status as The Pyramids at Giza and the Taj Mahal, Liverpool is truly the jewel in the crown in the North West of England.
