Could your property viewings soon be by Skype?

MovingSoon has welcomed the use of video viewings to their platform. County Durham Housing Group who advertise with MovingSoon, have become one of the first in their sector to launch house viewings via video calls. By using the innovative technology, viewings of social housing properties will become more accessible. The Skype calls will certainly save time and resources.

The video call viewings are available on homes which are currently vacant and available immediately. Whilst also being a more convenient way of viewing the properties it is also hoped that that it will help those who do not live in the local area.

The video calls have already proven to be a success. During the initial trial period, three families were able to view and move into their homes within weeks.

County Durham Housing Group Head of Housing Operations, Simon Bartlett, said: “Moving home is meant to be one of the most stressful things anyone can do, so we’re always on the lookout for ways to make it as pain free as possible. Video call viewings have been particularly useful for anyone thinking of moving to the north east, or to factor into busy lifestyles.

“We’ve already helped families from London and Birmingham move to County Durham as a direct result of video call viewings, and are pleased to be able to offer the service more widely now.”

As a housing association, this technology could add real value to your property advertising. Maybe it is something to consider at your next marketing meetings? MovingSoon are keen to support the uses of technology at every level and wish County Durham Housing Group the best of luck with their initiative.
