According to Insider Media have announced that work is due to start on a development of more than 50 affordable homes in Sheffield city centre. The area on London Road, is a former used car sales forecourt, and will contain a five-storey apartment block featuring 51 one and two bed apartments, which will be available for social rent. The scheme has been proposed by Great Places.

Insider Media Limited has reported that Great Places and Strata are redeveloping an area of redundant scrub land off Blue Mans Way, Catcliffe.The £13.2m development, comprises 76 affordable homes in South Yorkshire. It will be a mix of two-bed apartments, alongside one-, two-, three- and four-bed houses with 29 available for shared ownership and 47 for affordable rent.The shared ownership properties will be available through Plumlife Homes.

According to BBC News, Rotherham Borough Council are building 74 affordable homes for council rent in Rotherham. They are due to be finished in 2026.
